Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

PoolLens is a free, offline-first progressive web application (PWA) for pool service professionals, available at https://poolens.pages.dev. This marketing website is available at https://poolens-site.pages.dev. Both are operated by PoolLens. Contact: poolens@poolens.com.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

PoolLens does not collect:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
• Account credentials (there is no account system)
• Location data or GPS coordinates
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics, session data, or behavioral tracking
• Crash reports or diagnostic data sent to our servers
• Any information about your customers or the pools you service

3. Your Pool Data — Stays on Your Device

All data you enter into PoolLens — pool profiles, volume measurements, chemical history, route stops, checklist progress — is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage on your own device. This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is never transmitted to PoolLens servers (there are none for data storage)
• Is never shared with third parties
• Persists until you clear your browser data or uninstall the PWA

Because data lives only on your device, PoolLens cannot recover your data if you clear your browser storage or switch devices. We have no backup of anything you enter.

4. Cookies and Tracking

PoolLens does not use cookies. We do not use any third-party analytics services (no Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, Hotjar, or similar). We do not run advertising of any kind. There are no tracking pixels, no retargeting scripts, and no fingerprinting.

The app uses a service worker for offline caching — this caches app files locally on your device and is entirely standard PWA technology. It does not track behavior.

5. Cloudflare CDN

PoolLens is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and delivered via Cloudflare's content delivery network. When you access the app, your browser communicates with Cloudflare's servers to download app files. Cloudflare may process standard HTTP request metadata (IP address, browser type, request timestamp) as part of normal CDN operation. This is governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy, not ours. We receive no individually identifiable data from Cloudflare.

6. AI Scanner Feature (When It Ships)

PoolLens is developing an AI-powered equipment scanner feature. When this feature ships, here is how it will work from a privacy standpoint:

• When you choose to scan equipment, the image is sent from your device to a Cloudflare Worker (a serverless function we operate)
• That Worker makes a single API call to Anthropic's API to analyze the image
• Images are not stored — by us or by Anthropic beyond the immediate API response processing
• No image is retained, indexed, or used for any purpose other than returning the analysis to you
• Use of the AI scanner is always opt-in — you must actively choose to take and submit a photo

Anthropic's data handling for API calls is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We will update this Privacy Policy with full detail when the AI scanner ships.

7. Children's Privacy

PoolLens is a professional field reference tool intended for adult pool service technicians. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and given that we collect no information from anyone at all, there is no special risk here.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Since we store no data on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. To remove all PoolLens data from your device: clear your browser's site data for poolens.pages.dev, or uninstall the PWA from your home screen. Your data is gone immediately — permanently.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we materially change this Privacy Policy — particularly in connection with the AI scanner feature launch — we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We will not introduce data collection practices that contradict the core commitments in this policy without clear, prominent notice.
